Buttons are non-solid Blocks that were added in Update 0.13.0. They are Redstone-related blocks that are used to provide a temporary Redstone signal. They can be crafted in the Player's Crafting section.

Crafting

Note: The type of Planks used will not affect the Button.

  • Stone Block => 1 Stone Button

Note: Cobblestone Blocks don't work, only Stone.

Types

Wooden Buttons can be activated by fired Arrows (It will remain active until the arrow despawns or is picked up). They remain active for 15 ticks (1.5 seconds).

Stone Buttons cannot be activated by fired arrows, and they remain active for only 10 ticks (1 second).

Trivia

  • In other versions, Stone Buttons generate naturally in Strongholds to open Iron Doors.
  • Stone Buttons can be hidden on a stone wall, due to the fact that they look exactly like stone from a distance.
  • Buttons and Levers can be attached directly to blocks like Dispensers and Droppers.
  • Bug: From Update 1.0 through Update 1.0.3, Buttons became solid allowing the Player to stand on them.
  • Bug: Wooden Buttons repeat the clicking sound when activated by Arrows.
  • Bug: In Update 0.15.0, if a Player moves close to a Stone Button, he/she can see the texture of a Wooden Button inside it.
