An Egg is an Item that was added in Update 0.7.0.
Obtaining
Eggs are dropped by Chickens every 9-10 minutes.
Crafting
- 1 Sugar + 1 Egg + 1 Pumpkin => 1 Pumpkin Pie
Usage
Eggs can be used in Crafting recipes related to Food. They can also be Thrown, which has a 1/8th chance to spawn a baby Chicken. There is also a 1/256 chance of 4 Chickens spawning from a single thrown Egg. Throwing Eggs also counts as an attack, but does no noticeable damage.
Trivia
- Before Update 0.8.0, the eggs worked similarly to Spawn Eggs, in that they would sometimes spawn adult chickens. In Update 0.8.0, this was changed so only babies would spawn.
- Eggs break when thrown into a Nether Portal.
