Furnaces are Blocks that were added in Update 0.3.0. They can be used to smelt Items and cook Food, and require Fuel to use.

Crafting

Interface

The Furnace GUI consists of a top slot for the Block which needs to be smelted, and a bottom slot for the Fuel. Once a smeltable Block or item and a Fuel are added, an arrow will point towards a third slot at the extreme right. Once smelted, the new Block will appear in the third slot.

Trivia

  • A Furnace will provide luminosity when in use.
  • In Update 0.7.0, Furnaces were unusable, however this has since been fixed.
  • Furnaces can be naturally found in Village blacksmiths.
  • Furnaces can be glitched to show the smelting animation all the time even if it isn't smelting.
  • Bug: In Update 0.15.0, when dropped, Furnaces have the texture of active Furnaces.
  • The Player can automate a Furnace by attaching Hoppers to the sides; at the top for smelting items, to the side for fuel and from the bottom to remove smelted items into Chests.
  • From Update 0.16.0, the Furnace GUI has descriptions to label each slot. (Input, Fuel, Result)
