Iron Ore is a mineral block that can be smelted into Iron Ingots using a Furnace. Iron Ore is fairly common, and can be found easily in caves, often alongside Coal Ore. Iron can be used to craft the second strongest tools and armor after Diamond, which is much more difficult to obtain.

Spawning

In Old World types, Iron Ore was difficult to find, as caves were not implemented. In Infinite Worlds though, Iron can be found commonly due to the addition of Caves. Iron can be found in Levels 1-64.

• Iron Ore + Any Fuel = 1 Iron Ingot

Trivia

• Iron Ore is the second most common ore after Coal.
• Iron Ore requires at least a stone pickaxe to mine.
• Iron Ore can never drop the ingot, and must be smelted like Gold Ore.
• It can commonly be found in groups of 3-6 underground and rarely above ground.
