Update 1.0 (Background music)

Music composed by

C418

Music is a feature that allows music disks and background music to be played in-game.  It is in all other editions of Minecraft.

Types

There are two types of music:

Background Music

Background Music was added in Update 1.0 as DLC (Downloadable Content). This music plays in the background while the Player plays. The music changes into other various songs based on the Player's location (e.g. if the Player's in the Nether, the Nether music will play).

Music Disc (Upcoming)

Some music comes in the form of discs. They can be played in jukeboxes. These discs can be obtained through Dungeon Chests or when a Skeleton kills a Creeper. There are many music discs.

Disk 11 is the only disk that is cracked.

Trivia

  • Most of the music was composed by C418.
  • There are two albums of Minecraft music- Minecraft Volume Beta and Minecraft Volume Alpha.
  • The 'Cat' music disc plays the soundtrack 'Dog' when used by a jukebox.
  • Music Disc 11 is different from the other disks because it is cracked and all of its data (and so on) all contains 1 or 11. When used on a spectogram, it will reveal numbers "12418." 12 is the number of C, which means the spectogram reads C418.
  • In some occasions, more than one Music will play at the same time.
