Oak planks were the first kind of planks added. As of Update 0.8.0, you can only get them from oak trees. They appear with a medium color, darker than Birch Planks, and Jungle Planks  but lighter than Spruce Planks and Dark Oak Planks.

Crafting

Oak Planks (as any other planks) are used to craft many things-

1. Two planks of wood can give you 4sticks .
2. Four planks can give you a Crafting Table .
3. One stick and two planks can give you a Wooden Sword.
4. Two Sticks and two planks can give you a Hoe.
5. Two sticks and one plank can give you a Wooden Shovel.
6. Two sticks and three planks can give you a pickaxe or an axe. (Depending on the arrangement)
7. Eight planks can give you a chest.
8. Six planks can give you a door.
9. Four planks can give you a trapdoor.
10. Three planks can give you a bowl.
11. Two planks and four sticks can make an Oak Fence.

Trivia

• Before Update 0.8.0, all logs would yield oak planks when crafted.
• Oak Planks are used in the construction of underground mineshafts.
