Pufferfish is a type of Food that was added in Update 0.11.0. It became an important Brewing ingredient in Update 0.12.1. It can be obtained by Fishing.
Usage
Pufferfish are the second rarest catch from fishing (the first is clownfish). It can be used for brewing and feeding/taming an Ocelot (this isn't recommended though considering the rarity of pufferfish). Pufferfish cannot be cooked, similar to Clownfish. Even when eaten, it does not restore much Hunger, and as the effect is Hunger III, The Player's hunger will not go up, even if he/she has a full hunger bar.

- 1 Pufferfish + 1 Awkward Potion => 1 Potion Of Water Breathing
Trivia
- In real life, eating a Pufferfish will cause nausea, as well as vomiting and most likely death. (If it still has the poison inside or still raw.)
- Currently, eating a Pufferfish is the only way to get the Nausea Status Effect in Minecraft PE without the use of mods or server tools.
- Standing in an activated Nether Portal causes an effect similar to nausea, but it is not considered as nausea status effect.
- Pufferfish can actually kill the Player, poisoning him/her until they reach half a heart, and then emptying their Hunger bar, which in hard mode is fatal.
- Currently, eating a Pufferfish is the only way to get Hunger III and Poison IV in Pocket Edition.
- Before Update 0.12.1, Pufferfish were one of the most useless Items in Minecraft PE.
- It is also the most dangerous food in Minecraft.
- Pufferfish are one of the five foods in Minecraft that can poison the Player, the others being Spider Eye, Rotten Flesh, Poisonous Potato and Raw Chicken.
