A Stone Sword is a weapon that should be Crafted by a Player during the early stages of the game. It is an average Sword that does 4 more damage than that done by hand.
It can kill Zombies, Creepers, Skeletons, Baby Zombie Villagers, and Zombie Villagers in less than 5 hits.
Stone Swords are relatively easy to craft, and thus are preferred by Players who do not have access to a higher level or more expensive kind of sword. It is strong and easy to obtain on the first day.
Crafting
- 2 Cobblestone + 1 Stick => 1 Stone Sword
Contrary to its name, a Stone Sword requires Cobblestone to craft, and not Smooth Stone.
Trivia
- A Stone Sword is much stronger and durable than a Wooden or Gold Sword.
- Because Stone and Wood are so numerous (and are naturally generating objects), it is very easy to craft Stone Swords.
- The Stone Sword, along with Wooden and Iron Swords, is a renewable sword (a Cobblestone Generator can make infinite Cobblestone).
- As Stone Swords are easily accessible, they are a good choice in Experience farms when killing a large amount of Mobs.
- Wither Skeletons and Zombies are the only mobs that can wield Stone Swords.
