Sugarcane is a plant block that was added in Update 0.1.0. It can be found growing naturally beside bodies of water.
Generation
Sugar cane can be found growing on sand or grass near water bodies. It spawns in group of 2-4 and can be as high as 4 blocks.
Farming
Sugar cane cannot be grown on Farmland. Instead, it has to be placed on a Grass, Dirt, Sand, and red sand blocks that are adjacent to water. It can spawn on gravel but can't be placed on it. It will not grow on a block that is not next to water. Sugarcane can grow up to 4 blocks tall, and can grow instantly when Bone Meal is used.

- Sugar cane is not a solid block and can be walked through, like vines.
- It can also be used to hide from hostile mobs since they will lose sight of the player.
- Sugar cane does not grow faster on sand.
- Sugar cane can be found growing naturally in most Biomes where water is available.
- Sugar cane was also dropped by the Nether Reactor.
- However, the nether reactor later was removed in Update 0.12.1.
- Sugar cane can also be placed underwater, creating an Airlock.
