[UNKNOWNNAME1]= Bosco - Warrior
Before leaving the portal, Rogue and Alden equipped themselves to survive in the Overworld. They brought ten bowls of Mushroom Stew each, and Alden carried seven of the 128 Rocketlauncher bows he personally enchanted before the Hostiles took over. Rogue carried with her 64 pumpkins and 256 blocks of iron in case of an emergency, as well as her most recently repaired fully-enchanted Diamond sword, Mythicalbeast. After repairing their fully-enchanged diamond armor, they approached the portal, relaxed, and crossed. Stepping out of the portal, the duo found themselves in a large obsidian structure. It had windows on all sides to provide excellent visibility, and three layers of obsidian above and below them ensured creepers would never take them out. It was brightly lit with torches, and there was but one iron door with a lever above it. The whole room was maybe ten blocks high and twenty blocks square, with torches on every other block along the walls. By the iron door, which was sealed off from the outside by a layer of obsidian, was a chest containing five diamond pickaxes, one of which Rogue grabbed and equipped. Tapping the lever and opening the door, she mined through two layers of obsidian to reach the bright outdoors.
Alden cautiously looked around. There was a hill to his right, and another to his left, but right in front spread a large, bare valley with a few cows feeding on the grass blocks. Behind the structure was a grove of trees, and a slight cliff with a cave. To his relief there was not a Hostile in sight.
"I'll take watch," he said to Rogue as she began to build a large floor around the building. After collecting some dirt blocks with his hand, he made a staircase up to the roof of the structure, and relaxed, slowly walking in circles, looking for the slightest movement. Meanwhile, Rogue completed one of the walls, and began working on the one that would connect with the rest of the place. Progress was going well, and it seemed rather peaceful, so she decided to climb the wall and begin work on the outside. She placed a layer near the top so spiders cannot crawl up it, and made a dirt ramp to head back up. Soon, before she knew it, it was dusk.
"Alright, I think we can head back inside," Alden said. Looking around, he noticed a lone villager running from something. It was coming from the valley, and seemed to spontaneously take damage every now and then. Alden quickly recognized what was going on.
"Run!" However, by this time, there was more. Rogue pulled out her sword MythicalBeast and proceeded to strike the baby zombie pursuing the Villager, killing it in one hit. Turning to the Villager, she noticed it had it's arms out, and was heading straight for her. Hitting it immediately with Mythical, it flew back, into the valley, where it died of fall damage. During all of this she was unaware of Alden's call to return, and only after seeing the mass charging forward from the hill on the right did she finally climb her stairs to the top. Destroying some of the dirt blocks, she ensured there was no way they would get in.
Alden jumped down to meet her. "Now what?"
"We still need water for the farm."
Alden looked at Rogue skeptically. "With a couple dozen Hostiles on the other side of the wall you are thinking about collecting water?"
Rogue looked back at him. "I can spawn at least 64 iron golems to take care of these."
"Okay, then go ahead."
Building five iron golems, she directed them over the wall, and followed with Mythical. Soon all twenty five Hostiles, ten skeletons, eight zombies, and seven creepers were eliminated at the cost of one iron golem. Turning to Alden, she exclaimed, "That wasn't so hard."
Alden looked around, and knew that was nothing. He had been anxious for the past several weeks because of the Hostiles, and for once thought he could relax in the Overworld. So foolish, he thought now, that he would do that there and not in the Nether, where he was safe inside a home with a group of Mooshrooms and a second armed individual to help increase his protection. But now was the time to vigilant, and it would be foolish to lose his life in pursuit of Overworld food.
A crunch made them both turn around, and they could hear blocks being placed, and then a figure stood at the top of the wall. Still dark, they could just barely see him in the moonlight. It was then they heard a voice.
"I deed eeeeeeeet!" The figure thrust his hands in the air and fell to his knees as if he had done something incredible.
How? thought Rogue. She and Alden were dumbfounded, and stared on as the figure dropped down to where a torch illuminated his complection. It was the lost cause, the one they thought was gone forever, doomed to die in an unimplemented feature, and yet, he was here, tired, crazy, and unkept.
"Bosco!" the duo shouted.
"Wow, do I have a story for the record books!"
The Nether Defenders will continue in the next post.
