First Appearance

Update 0.15.0

Tipped Arrows are ammunition Items that were added in Update 0.15.0. They are sub-types of Arrows that inflict targets with Status Effects.

Obtaining[]

As a Version Exclusive method of attainment, Tipped Arrows can be obtained by placing Arrows in Cauldrons filled with Potions. The Arrow will then be tipped with the Potion.

After Update 1.0, Tipped Arrows can also be Crafted using Lingering Potions.

Crafting[]

  • Any Lingering Potion + 8 Arrows => 8 Tipped Arrows (Of that Potion)

Usage[]

Tipped Arrows are used to imbue Mobs or Player it hits with the Status Effect of the Potion it was tipped with. The effect lasts for 1/8th of the time the Potion would last for.

To use a Tipped Arrow the Player selects the Tipped Arrow from the Hotbar, and not the Bow. This gives the Player control of which Arrow to use when carrying multiple variants of Tipped Arrows, in addition to normal Arrows. After Update 1.1, the Player will be able to put Tipped Arrows in the off-hand slot to use them.

Trivia[]

  • Tipped Arrows will be consumed even if the Bow used is Enchanted with Infinity to avoid overpowering.
  • Up to 48 Arrows can be tipped with a Cauldron completely filled with a Potion.
  • Bedrock Exclusive: In Update 0.16.0, the Arrow of Decay was added as a new type of Tipped Arrow that applies the Wither Status Effect to whoever is shot.
  • Nausea, Blindness, Mining Fatigue and Haste are not obtainable in Tipped Arrow form.
