Wood is a Block that was added in Pre-Release and is arguably the most needed resource in Minecraft. Wood can be obtained by chopping down a Tree.

Crafting & Smelting

• 1 Wood => 4 Wooden Planks (The type of wood used affects the planks.)
• 1 Wood => 1 Charcoal (In Furnace)

Trivia

• It is a renewable resource, since Trees drop Saplings, which can be grown back into Trees.
• When playing the Lite Version, logs cannot be picked up. This is because they are not needed, as there are no Crafting Tables.
• Before 0.8.0, all trees dropped Spruce Wood. However, these were only called logs and would always craft Oak Planks.
• Wood (all variants) are the only Items that can be an ingredient or a Fuel for smelting/cooking in a Furnace.
